When we were looking for a good hotel for our Chicago city trip, we came across the Hilton Chicago. You can find out whether the luxury hotel on Michigan Avenue was a good choice in our hotel rating.
Arrival and check-in
We parked our rental car in a 15-minute parking zone right next to the main entrance of the hotel. Through the old “Gilded“ We entered the Hilton Chicago with our luggage and stood in the lavishly renovated entrance hall. The decorations, high ceilings and the staircases on both sides were very impressive. The absolute eye-catcher was the large gold-colored grandfather clock in the middle of the entrance hall.
We then checked in at the reception. Thanks Diamond Status we were upgraded from our booked room with King size bed into a corner room overlooking Lake Michigan. In addition, we were given two vouchers for the continental breakfast for each day.
What are the rooms like in Hilton Chicago?
Our room was on the 15th floor. The corridors are very winding due to the shape of the building. We had to turn off several times to get to our room 1569 in the far corner.
The room had two large windows with blinds. In front of one window was a long desk with cabinets for refrigerator and coffee maker. From the workplace we had a great view of Lake Michigan, the Buckingham Fountain and the Navy Pier. In addition, there was a TV and a small tablet on the desk, which you could use to view information about the hotel and Chicago or In-room dining order. The bathroom was also relatively new and sufficiently spacious.
Our room must have been recently renovated. Unfortunately, not so much work was put into the noise isolation, so we heard the coughing of the roommate through the connecting door.
How is the breakfast at Hilton Chicago?
As a Hilton Diamond status guest, you will receive vouchers for a continental breakfast or a snack bag. We decided to have breakfast in the restaurant. Here we got all "cold" food for free. The selection of fruit, yogurt, muesli and baked goods were completely sufficient for us to start the day strengthened. The only thing we missed was jam or Nutella. However, if you want egg dishes, pancakes or the like as a guest, this costs 10 USD extra.

Summary
We were more than satisfied with our stay at the Hilton Chicago. We really liked the mix of old architecture and the modern décor of the rooms. Due to the high number of guests, the service was not 1A in all areas. Again, the location on Michigan Avenue and Grant Park was perfect for our city trip.
One of the fabulous hotels in Chicago that is very luxurious when looking at the photos, from the reception to the rooms it is very attractive.
