Hampton by Hilton Swinoujscie

The Hampton by Hilton Swinoujscie hotel is located in the centre of Świnoujście, not far from the promenade and the Baltic Sea beach. When looking for a hotel for our holiday on Usedom, the decision was easy for us as Hilton HHonors status customers. We would like to share our opinion of the Hampton by Hilton Swinoujscie below.

Booking, arrival and check-in

Since 2014, almost all Hilton hotels have allowed guests to check in via app up to 24 hours before arrival. This has the advantage of allowing guests to choose their room based on the displayed hotel floor plan. The app also shows the hotel's surroundings, enabling them to choose a room on the side facing away from the street. Unfortunately, only rooms facing the street were available for our stay. However, I did find a room on the fourth and top floor (number 401), which appeared very large on the floor plan. Looking at the floors below the fourth, two small rooms were shown in the same area.

The reception at the hotel was in English and was quick and friendly. We were given the room I had pre-selected, number 401. As part of the "My Way Hotel Benefits," we were allowed to choose a drink and a snack from the hotel shop. We then took the elevator to the 4th floor. Although our room was opposite the elevators, we couldn't hear them because there was an airspace between them.

Where is the Hampton by Hilton Swinemünde located?

The hotel is located in a new development area. The Swinemünde Centrum train station (departure point for the Usedom Railway), several restaurants, and the edge of the Polish market are all within easy walking distance. A supermarket is also within walking distance. The beach and promenade can be reached on foot in 20 minutes.

Hotel guests have the option of parking their car in the underground garage. The hotel charges 40 PLN (approx. 10 EUR) per day for this. However, during our stay, there were plenty of free parking spaces available right outside the hotel.

What are the rooms like at the Hampton by Hilton Swinemünde?

When we opened the door to our room, we were overwhelmed by its size. The dark wood veneer furniture looked very modern. Behind the door stood a three-door wardrobe with five shelves and a section with a hanging rail. To the left of the entrance was the bathroom, separated from the rest of the room by a sliding door with a frosted glass panel. The large shower had dispensers for shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner. The sink was surrounded by granite. It could have used a bit more counter space.

The room itself had a large mirror, a sideboard with a television, and a desk with a lamp and two power outlets on the right. On the left side of the room were the bed and a sofa bed. The queen-size bed was comfortably firm, but not very wide. However, it was perfectly fine for two people to sleep in. The crib, which we had pre-ordered by email and had a fantastic pirate design, was already in the room. We didn't need the lovely crib bedding for our 4 1/2-month-old son yet. Although the room faced the street, the traffic noise was barely audible despite the cobblestones. This could also have been due to the constant hum of the air conditioning.

Wi-Fi was free for all guests. Guests simply had to log in regularly with their room number and last name. Faster internet was not offered to status guests, but this wasn't necessary due to the high available speeds (download 34.46 Mbps & 45.26 Mbps).

There were plenty of electrical outlets in the hotel room. It's important to note that Poland uses type E sockets. The flat Europlugs (type C) fit without any problems. However, the thicker Schuko plugs can only be used if there is an additional hole for the center pin.

What is the breakfast like at the Hampton by Hilton Swinemünde?

Breakfast was served in the lobby restaurant. The room was nicely decorated, dominated by warm colors and wood. Each table had a vase with a fresh flower. There was ample seating. Exclusively for HHonors members, tables were already set with items including a basket of jam, honey, and Nutella. There was room for improvement in the service; unfortunately, used dishes were not cleared away during breakfast.

On the right side of the buffet were hot dishes such as pancakes, scrambled eggs with bacon, and sausages. To the left was a well-organized salad bar with cheese, various cereals, and yogurt, as well as a waffle station with different toppings. The two middle buffet islands offered toast, croissants, cheese, and cold cuts. A self-service bar provided orange juice, apple juice, water, and coffee. Unfortunately, there was no coffee machine, only two large insulated containers for filter coffee. The coffee was rather weak.

What does the Hampton by Hilton Swinemünde offer for relaxation?

The hotel has a gym, a meeting room, and a computer corner with three PCs and a printer. There was a small shop at reception selling chilled drinks and snacks. Prices were reasonable.

The Hampton by Hilton Swinemünde hotel is ideal for a holiday on Usedom. The rooms are clean and, if you pay attention at check-in, pleasantly spacious. Unfortunately, the air conditioning is a bit noisy and runs every night. The breakfast is basic with a good selection, but the same every day. The Wi-Fi is super fast.

I'm Christian, born in the green heart of Germany, and I studied computer engineering in Ilmenau. Today, I live in Merseburg with my wife Christin and our son, but I work in Leipzig as a product manager. For me, travel has always been more than just a change of scenery. I loved boarding a plane, discovering new cuisines, and feeling at home in special hotels. This mix of enjoyment, curiosity, and wanderlust is why I started writing about my experiences on this blog back in 2007. Whether a spontaneous weekend adventure or a grand journey across continents, I wanted to share my passion and show how many wonderful stories the world holds. And to this day, I'm always on the lookout for the next place that will surprise me.
