It's no secret that Scandinavia often offers unbeatable flight deals. Thanks to an amazing pricing error, we were lucky enough to score business class tickets for our flight to Seattle. Since arriving to Oslo on time was essential, we decided to spend one night at the Park Inn by Radisson Oslo Airport (Gardermoen). In this hotel review we share our experiences with this first-class airport hotel.
Arrival and check-in
After arriving at Oslo Airport (Gardermoen) we used the leftmost exit of the main building. From there a covered path led directly to the hotel. The walk took about five minutes with luggage. We had to wait briefly for a freelancer in the beautifully designed lobby. As you would expect from an airport hotel, the reception is of course open 24 hours. Check-in was quick but friendly and we received our room cards. We then took the elevator to the fourth floor and made our way through the winding architecture of the Park Inn by Radisson Oslo Airport to our room 4272.
What are the rooms like at Park Inn by Radisson Oslo Airport?
We found the size of the room very pleasant. Admittedly not huge. Luckily there was no space-consuming wardrobe, so there was enough space on the floor for one large and two small suitcases. There was a coat rack behind the door for our winter coats. We also didn't have to do without a safe and a coffee station.
Directly to the left in the hallway was the access to the bathroom with a floor-level shower. This was separated from the rest of the room by a movable glass wall. When we showered, the rest of the bathroom floor still got wet, no matter what we did. Otherwise, we liked the generous storage space at the sink.
In the bedroom and living area, the LED installation behind the bed immediately caught the eye. The RGBW LED strips could be individually adjusted using a button on the right bedside table. There was also a socket on each side of the bed and two USB sockets on the right side for charging smartphones. However, the mattress on our bed was clearly too soft for us.
There was a comfortable armchair by the window with a floor lamp and a small table. The television hung on the wall opposite the bed. To the left of it was a desk with a desk lamp and swivel chair. There were also two sockets here. For an airport hotel, however, the television program was rather disappointing. There was only a small selection of TV programs. The only non-Norwegian broadcaster was the BBC. Luckily, we were able to connect our iPad to the TV via Airplay and watch YouTube via the free WiFi.
How is breakfast at Park Inn by Radisson Oslo Airport?
Breakfast is served at Park Inn by Radisson Oslo Airport from 5:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. (Monday to Friday) or 10:30 a.m. (Saturday and Sunday). The large dining room is furnished with black tables and chairs with red cushions. Since we arrived for breakfast just before 6 a.m., it was pleasantly quiet. The selection at the buffet was very extensive. There were various juices and smoothies, a coffee machine, waffles, ham and egg rolls, cold plates, fish, fruit salad and even a station with noodle soups. The common German hotel guest who expects a selection of different rolls will be somewhat disappointed here. Only croissants and a type of roll, unfortunately also with poppy seeds, were offered. Of course the typical crispbread was not missing.

Summary
The Park Inn by Radisson Oslo Airport is a first-class airport hotel. It's only a few minutes' walk from the terminal to the lobby. Our room was a pleasant size, clean and modernly furnished. It was a bit of a shame that there were hardly any international television channels. There is some catching up to do when it comes to service. So our bed was carelessly made and we were only served very sparingly at breakfast.
