Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur

Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur

After more than a week, our stay in Malaysia had unfortunately already come to an end. Before travelling to Bangkok via Singapore with Singapore Airlines, we were able to relax in the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur before our departure. You can find out what the lounge in the international departures area of Terminal 1 has to offer and how to gain access in our lounge review.

Where is the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur located?

The Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur is located in the international departure area of Terminal 1. Immediately after passport control and a further customs check, the entrance to the lounge is located at the beginning of gate area G. The lounge itself is then located on the upper floor, which can be reached via an escalator. The route to the lounge is well signposted. Incidentally, the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur shares the reception area with the First Class Lounge of the same name, which unfortunately has the better view, namely of the apron.

Who has access to the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur?

We had access to the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur through our flight ticket in Business Class from Kuala Lumpur. In addition, with the Priority Pass, which is available in the American Express Platinum credit card included, had free access and could have brought a guest with them. If you don't have any of the above options, you can also access the lounge via the official website acquire. At the time of our lounge review, the entry price for 2 hours was 194 MYR (approx. 40 EUR).

How is the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur equipped?

The Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur has a modern design and a variety of seating options. Immediately after the entrance, there is a seating area with various leather armchairs on the left-hand side. The restaurant area with tables, chairs and benches is located in the central area, visually divided by wood and metal decorations. The area is also livened up by several plants. At the back of the lounge is a room called the Living Room, which is quieter than the other seating areas in the lounge. There were plenty of power sockets and charging facilities in each seating area.

It was generally very noisy in the lounge, although various structural measures have been taken. If you want to escape the noise and relax in a private atmosphere before departure, the lounge offers private meeting rooms. However, the prices for this are very high at 2000 MYR (approx. 400 EUR) per hour.

What is there to eat and drink in the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur?

The selection of food was fine for a contract lounge. During our stay, the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur offered various dishes for breakfast in the morning. In addition to cornflakes, scrambled eggs and bacon, there was salad and various cakes. Other hot dishes and Malaysian specialities were freshly prepared at a live kitchen.

We found the range of drinks a little disappointing. There was a bar with various cocktails, spirits, beer and wine. However, these had to be paid for and the prices were between 34-50 MYR (6-10 EUR). In addition, there was only water and orange juice and a vending machine for soft drinks. On the negative side, unfortunately only plastic cups were available for drinks.

Summary

The Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur was definitely better than waiting at the gate. We liked the modern design of the seating areas. Unfortunately, it was very noisy and apart from a few skylights, there was no daylight. Despite the open kitchen and bar, the range of food and drinks on offer was also somewhat meagre.
