SWISS Senator Lounge Zürich Terminal A

The new SWISS Senator Lounge Zurich was opened in Terminal A about a year ago. On the way back from our summer holiday in Dubai, we were finally able to visit the lounge in June 2019. Find out in our lounge review whether the 18-month construction period was worth it!

Where is the SWISS Senator Lounge Zurich Terminal A?

The new SWISS Senator Lounge in Terminal A is in the same place: after the security check, through the duty-free shop, up the escalator and then just a few steps to the entrance. Overall, the route was very well signposted. The entrance area is shared by the Senator Lounge and the Business Lounge. Those who still know the former lounge will notice that the SWISS Senator Lounge is now on the right instead of the left.

How is the SWISS Senator Lounge Zurich Terminal A equipped?

After the entrance control, we reached the actual lounge, half a floor higher, via a flight of stairs. Upstairs we stood in the restaurant area with tables, chairs and long benches. The high ceilings and the massive metal structures create an ambience reminiscent of a market hall.

Behind the restaurant area, separated by an open wooden construction, was the "classic" lounge area. There were several leather armchairs with side tables, lamps and sockets. There were also three separate work areas and a light-flooded atrium, which in turn housed several workplaces. There were enough sockets everywhere and some also contactless charging stations.

To the left of the entrance is a so-called Bellevue Terrace. This area with upholstered benches and stools extends into the Business Class Lounge. However, the "terrace" is separated from it by high glass walls.

The former smoking bar above the lounge has been converted into a relaxation room. There were some relaxation loungers and comfortable sofas. Definitely a better use of the available space than before the renovation!

The SWISS Lounge also has several washrooms with showers. These are very modern and offer a lot of space.

What is there to eat and drink in the SWISS Senator Lounge Zurich Terminal A?

We were in the lounge early Saturday morning so breakfast was offered during our stay. There was a cold buffet with sausage and cheese, various jams, yoghurt with muesli and fresh fruit. However, the highlight of the SWISS Senator Lounge Zurich is the open kitchen. Egg dishes such as omelets, fried eggs or scrambled eggs were freshly prepared here. Another unique feature of the SWISS Lounge in Zurich is the freezer with Mövenpick ice cream. Yummy!

The range of drinks was very extensive. Starting with various soft drinks, juices and water, there was also a large selection of beers, wine and sparkling wine. The selection of hot drinks, which you can get from one of the three fully automatic coffee machines, is also amazing. From normal coffee to espresso to iced caramel latte macchiato, we could choose from over twenty coffee specialties.

Summary

We status guests had to wait a long time for the renovation work to be completed on the SWISS Senator Lounge Zurich in Terminal A. In summary, I would say the wait was worth it. I really like the new design and the different seating areas. I also find the concept with the open kitchen extremely successful.
