United Airlines lounges have historically not been famous for their decor and food and beverage offerings. However, since the introduction of the new “Polaris” Business Class, United Clubs have started to renovate and improve the service offering. The United Club Seattle was one of the first lounges to feature the new design. You can find out more about our stay in January 2017 in the review.
Where is United Club Seattle located?
The United Club at Seattle Airport is located on the second floor of the central terminal building across from gates A11 and A12. The lounge can be reached either via an elevator or the stairs.
Who has access to United Club Seattle?
The entry rules to United Clubs are a little different than we know them from Europe. As a Star Alliance Gold customer, I get access regardless of class of service and destination, but as a United Airlines frequent flyer equivalent, I only get access on international flights. Of course, passengers who have a business or first class ticket for long-haul routes with a Star Alliance member on the same day can also visit the United Club Seattle.
How is the United Club Seattle equipped?
After the reception area we went left past the reception counter into the lounge. This awaits its visitors with differently designed seating areas. Along a window front there was a small seating area with leather armchairs. There were also a number of other seating areas with tables and a kind of bar with high chairs. We noticed the sockets and USB sockets at almost every seat very positively. The free WiFi was also usable in the entire lounge with a good connection speed.
What is there to eat and drink at United Club Seattle?
Das Angebot an Speisen & Getränken ist in den meisten Lounges von United Airlines sehr überschaubar. Vom Frühstücksangebot im United Club am Flughafen Seattle waren wir deshalb positiv überrascht. So gab es neben den in Klarsichtfolie verpackten Äpfeln im hinteren Teil der Lounge ein Buffet mit Granola, frischem Obst, Joghurt, Gebäck und Bagels, Frischkäse und verschiedene andere Brotaufstriche. Sicherlich noch nicht Spitzenklasse, aber immerhin eine Verbesserung gegenüber Gurken- und Möhren-Sticks von früher.
Juices, water, tea and coffee specialties were offered at a drinks station. Other drinks were only served at a bar. Soft drinks, as well as cheap beer or wine were offered free of charge. Unfortunately, more expensive wines or spirits have to be paid for in the United Club. No matter what kind of drink you want, the bartender is happy about a tip or two.

Summary
Wir waren vom Design und der Ausstattung des United Clubs angenehm überrascht. Besonders gefallen haben uns das große Angebot an Sitzmöglichkeiten und die ausreichend vorhandenen Steckdosen bzw. USB-Buchsen zum Laden der persönlichen Geräte. Das Angebot an Speisen & Getränke war für einen Snack bzw. in unserem Fall für das Frühstück ausreichend. Wer einen größeren Hunger verspürt, sollte lieber in ein Restaurant im Terminal essen.
