It has come: the day of our departure. After breakfast in La Quinta Inn & Suites San Diego Mission Bay we packed our suitcases in our rental car and drove towards Los Angeles. Since our flight to Germany was not until evening, we chose a few sights for the day, such as the Hollywood Sign.
We stopped at just in time for lunch Pink’s (700-714 N La Brea Ave Los Angeles, CA 90038) for the famous Chili Dog. But I have to honestly admit that this Hot Dog Didn't blow my mind and didn't taste like the hot dog on mine last Pink's visit three years ago approached.
The best spot for a photo from the Hollywood Sign
Sated, we looked for the best position around that Photograph the Hollywood Sign. There are a variety of opinions to be found on the internet. We found the best spot at the address 6201 Mulholland Hwy, Los Angeless. A small hiking trail starts directly to the right of the house, from where we had the perfect view of the lettering. Really awesome!
Hike to the Hollywood Sign
Our original plan was to go up to the Hollywood Sign hike. From the address:6084 Mulholland Hwy, Los Angeless this should probably be possible without problems. With the telephoto lens of my camera, I could also see some people on the mountain. But it was so hot that October day and we still had to fly home with the clothes we were wearing. So we decided against a hike. Next time in LA, this is high on the to-do list.
Since we still had a little time, we drove around in the Hollywood Hills. Crossed Beverly Hills and found themselves behind Universal Studios looking for a geocache. From above we could see the film set of “War of the Worlds” very well. Unfortunately, most of the fences were covered with privacy screens.

After a short detour to Hollywood Bowl, we drove to the airport and to the rental car return at the Alamo. The white Chrysler 200 accompanied us quite comfortably, as well as an American car can do, 1755 kilometers. I was quite enthusiastic about the average consumption of 8.5l/100km. Here, too, Chrysler has done its homework.
