Before heading home on Sunday afternoon, I really wanted to take the opportunity to see the sights of Washington D.C. and check out the National Air and Space Museum at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate and it rained all day.
After I was in another part of the US yesterday, today I wanted to go to Washington D.C. look at. The weather is very bad, it has been raining all day. But I still try to see most of the sights. I take the Washington Flyer Bus from the airport to West Falls Church Metro Station. The train then continues to the city center.
Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery
White House
The Mall und Lincoln Memorial
More impressions of Washington D.C. Sights in the rain
After a good five hours of running in the rain, it's off to Shake Shake to get me an uplifting dinner. A recommendation from a friend. It's probably one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. A small one has to go on the subway as provisions. :-)
I'm packing for my flight home. But before I head back home on Sunday afternoon, I definitely want to take the opportunity to visit the Air and Space Museum at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center Washington D.C. look at.
Washington D.C. Air and Space Museum – Steven Udvar Hazy Center
On the day of departure, one of the most beautiful aircraft museums ever wants to see me. A shuttle bus runs from the hotel directly to the museum in ten minutes. From now on I have three hours to look at everything. Admission is free. There are two huge hangars, one for civil and military aircraft and one for space travel. There are exhibits from all eras of aviation in the exhibition. The Space Shuttle impressed me the most.
Unfortunately, there is not enough time to deal with the exhibition in detail, but it was enough for a good first impression. Until next time! More information can be found on the official Museum website.
