Opened in 2004, the Hilton Kuala Lumpur is one of the best hotels in Southeast Asia according to TripAdvisor. After a relaxing time on the Malaysian island of Penang, we wanted to unwind a little in Kuala Lumpur before our departure to Bangkok. During our stay in Malaysia, we really wanted to see more than just Kuala Lumpur. As we had already been to the Malaysian island of Langkawi a few years ago, this time we opted for the island of Penang. Fortunately, there is also a Hilton Group hotel on the holiday island and so we spent three nights at the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang.

Our second hotel on the island of Langkawi was the Berjaya Langkawi Resort. When we arrived at 2 p.m., our room or the Rainforest Chalet we had booked was not yet ready. The process at reception was very unprofessional for a 4-star hotel and took forever. Maybe we were just unlucky with the staff.
After landing on the dream island of Langkawi, our personal shuttle service from the hotel The Danna Langkawi awaited us at the airport. They took our luggage and escorted us to the car. During the ride we got drinks and a cool towel to freshen up. Even if our journey from Singapore wasn't that long, something refreshing is always good in the heat.
