Before our time in the jungle was up, the Mulu Canopy Skywalk was still on our agenda. This 480 meter long and 15 to 25 meter high path leads over suspension bridges through the treetops of the rainforest.
The second day in Mulu started for us with a small breakfast in the Park Café. Here you can choose between 3 dishes. We opted for pancakes (unfortunately not the American version, just simple pancakes) with fruit. The atmosphere is particularly nice here. The wicker chairs and wooden tables stand directly on the bank of a river – the jungle begins on the opposite bank. One sits in the "civilization" and can observe the wilderness on the other side of the river.
With MASWings flight MH 3255, an ATR 72-500 (identification: 9M-MWA, initial name: Kuching) we flew from Kota Kinabalu via Miri to Mulu. From the plane we could see the endless expanses of the jungle. Occasionally there are smaller settlements or sweeping river courses. Mulu Airport consists of a small terminal building and a short runway. We walked the 1.5 kilometers to the main entrance of Gunung Mulu National Park. It is also possible to take a minibus, but it costs 5 MYR per person.
