Langkawi Airport is a typical small tourist airport. The distances are short and the queues, at least on this Saturday, are not long either. For us, it was with the Malaysia Airlines Economy Class Boeing 737-800 to Kuala Lumpur.
Checking in with Malaysia Airlines was quick and uncomplicated. In addition to Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, Malindo and Silk Air flew this morning. 6-7 planes alone fly to Kuala Lumpur on Saturday morning.
At departure gate 3 we had to wait a little longer until we could board at 11.30 a.m. A Malaysian state aircraft, an old Boeing 737, still had to land. A carpet, not a red one, but a yellow one, was rolled out and many personalities in suits got out. While the crew on the stairs became nervous and stood in line, the Malaysian king stepped out of the plane. He went into a neighboring VIP terminal and a short time later a convoy of vehicles with police and about 15 vehicles drove up.
What is the cabin and seat like in Malaysia Airlines Economy Class Boeing 737-900?
Our plane was not even half full. This is probably due to the fact that seven more flights go to Kuala Lumpur in the morning alone.
We sat in seats 25E and F. At 11:43 a.m., seven minutes before departure, the pilot gave the go-ahead for the pushback. After the safety video on the monitors, which, by the way, could be freed from dust again, a travel prayer "In the name of Allah..." Displayed. The start took place at 11:50 a.m. in a westerly direction. So in the curve over the Andaman Sea we had a nice view of Langkawi and our two hotels, the "The Danna" (here you can find our hotel rating) and the Berjaya (here you can find our hotel rating)
Was gibt es in der Malaysia Airlines Economy Class Boeing 737-900 zu essen & trinken?
The on-board service consisted of a bag of salted peanuts and a choice between apple and orange juice. Thanks to the low cruising altitude and the mostly clear sky, we had a good view of the Malaysian mainland.
Already at 12.15 p.m. the captain initiated the descent. During the landing approach, parallel to Kuala Lumpur International Airport, we had a great view of the Formula 1 track of Sepang. At 12:40 p.m. we finally touched down and reached Gate A2R after a short taxiing.
With the KLIA Express we went to Kuala Lumpur for 35 MYR per person without a stopover. The cheaper alternative would be an AirAsia bus for MYR 9. But it takes over an hour for the 70 kilometers to KL Sentral. The express train, on the other hand, takes only 28 minutes and there is Wifi on board. However, this has occasional disconnections.
