In a few years, the Fokker 100 will be history at Austrian Airlines. It is gradually being replaced by the Embraer 195. I am all the more looking forward to my flight in Austrian Airlines Economy Class in the Fokker 100 from Vienna to Warsaw to experience this “classic” again.
Austrian Airlines Economy Class in the Fokker 100 as OS631 from Vienna to Warsaw
A short visit to the Austrian Senator Lounge and on to Warsaw. Depending on the departure gate, it can take quite a long time to get out of the lounge, so you should always keep an eye on the time. Boarding is at 5:15 p.m. and the bus takes you to the plane. When the weather is right, I think Busgate is really great. At least you have a nice view of the plane. Today the OE-LVG with the name "Krakau" in the Star Alliance livery is ready for the leg to Warsaw. While I enjoy the view of the plane, the first passengers board in the meantime. I reserved my seat by the window in the penultimate row (21A). Perfect – even in front of the engine and with a view of the wing and the landscape, that's the way it has to be. ;-)
The flight is very well utilized - all seats are occupied. After a short wait, we taxi to our position in the direction of runway 34. We set off on a north-easterly course in the direction of Warsaw.
Der Service in der Austrian Airlines Economy Class
After reaching the cruising altitude, the service begins. Since there are only two flight attendants on this short flight, the service is quite lengthy. Only when we slowly begin to descend does my little “menu” reach me. I actually always drink water and coffee with milk on the short flights. I like to take the Manner waffle, a Viennese “speciality”, with me.
The seat in the Austrian Airlines Economy Class Fokker 100
The Fokker 100 has a very interesting seating arrangement with 2-3 seats. Compared to the "camping chairs" that are now standard in Economy Class, these seats are cozy and comfortable in comparison. Only the seat pitch is relatively small.
With a little delay we land at Warsaw Frédéric Chopin Airport. A bus is already waiting on the apron to take us to the terminal. Only a few more steps, then I'm outside and it goes with me UBER In the city.
