In July 2016, I was very lucky to be part of the first flight of Singapore Airlines' Airbus A350-900 from Düsseldorf. I have already written you a detailed article about this. In this review I would like to tell you what the return flight was like in the Singapore Airlines Business Class Airbus A350-900 from Singapore to Düsseldorf. There is also a brief insight into the first and business class SilverKris Lounge at Singapore Airport.

Since our delicious dinner in the restaurant Coriander Leaf (authentic Asian cuisine with a modern touch) but it took longer than we had planned as we only got to check-in 75 minutes before departure. Luckily, you can check in with Singapore Airlines at Changi Airport up to 40 minutes before departure.

The luggage was checked in quickly and in addition to the Singapore Airlines Business Class ticket for the return flight to Düsseldorf, I surprisingly received an invitation to the SilverKris First Class Lounge. So quickly go through passport control and go to the lounge.
Singapore Airlines SilverKris Business Lounge
The SilverKris First and Business Class lounges in Terminal 3 have a common entrance. That's exactly what was my downfall. Still completely perplexed by the invitation, I took a wrong turn and accidentally ended up in the SilverKris Business Lounge.
The SilverKris Business Lounge is very spacious and offers plenty of seating options. There are also various buffets, including sushi, Indian, salads and desserts. The selection of drinks was also very good. In addition to a long refrigerated counter with various soft drinks, there was also a well-stocked selection of alcoholic drinks. I took a glass of Charles Heidsieck champagne and a tumbler of Johnnie Walker Black Label.

Singapore Airlines SilverKris First Class Lounge
After realizing I had accidentally ended up in the business lounge, I quickly finished my champagne and headed out. Arriving at the Singapore Airlines SilverKris First Class Lounge, I felt like I was in another world. In contrast to the business lounge, there were hardly any guests present here and there was a pleasant silence.

Unfortunately, I didn't have much time left to explore the lounge. So I took a look at the restaurant area, which also had a small self-service buffet, a work corner with iMacs and the bar. I ordered a glass of champagne from the very friendly bartender and made myself comfortable in one of the brown leather armchairs. I enjoyed the peace and quiet and was briefly “annoyed” that I had lost so much time in the business lounge at the beginning.

The boarding time for my flight to Düsseldorf had long since passed and I made my way to the gate with a heavy heart. On the way to the exit of the Singapore Airlines SilverKris First Class Lounge, I passed the reception of “The Private Room”. However, I was denied access to this particular lounge as it is only intended for departing Singapore Airlines First Class passengers.
Flight in Singapore Airlines Business Class Airbus A350-900 as SQ338 to Düsseldorf
As one of the last passengers and shortly before the final call, I entered the new Singapore Airline Business Class in the Airbus A350-900. Despite my delay, I was warmly welcomed by the crew and greeted in German by the leading stewardess in the green sarong Kebayas.

What is the cabin and seat like on the Singapore Airlines Business Class Airbus A350-900?
On the outward flight and at the same time the first flight from Düsseldorf to Singapore (Review) I sat in business class in the back, smaller compartment. I had reserved seat 11K for today's return flight. Interestingly, this is located in the front row of the aircraft. Since there is only a small galley in the front area of Singapore Airlines Business Class on the Airbus A350 and a single toilet on the left side of the aircraft, it is also pleasantly quiet. Perfect for a night flight!
I have already reported in detail about Singapore Airlines' business class seat and entertainment system in the article about the first flight. Therefore, at this point I would just like to talk about the sleeping options on board.
Shortly after takeoff, I slipped into the pajamas I had brought with me in the front washroom of business class. Unfortunately, as far as I know, Singapore Airlines does not provide one. That's why I was glad that I took my Van Laack pajamas with me from Lufthansa First Class (Review). When I came back from changing, my bed was already prepared for the night. To do this, fold the backrest forward and transform the seat into a flat and wide lying surface. Singapore Airlines advertises that it is the widest bed in its class. I also think it's a good idea to buckle up when sleeping. This does not happen with the normal, rigid lap belt, but with an additional belt. This is similar to that in a car and moves with you to a certain extent. This makes turning over in your sleep easier and more comfortable.

After the extensive meal, I watched a report about “Hermann the German” (Hermann Freidanck), the head chef at Singapore Airlines. Then I fell asleep and had almost seven hours of restful sleep.
Was gibt es in der Singapore Airlines Business Class Airbus A350-900 zu essen & trinken?
The excellent service began even before the start with a glass of Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve Champagne. To keep my fluid balance in balance, I also drank some water. For the time immediately after take-off I ordered a non-alcoholic Midsummer Breeze cocktail (apple, orange and pineapple juice with 7-up) from the leading stewardess. This drink was served with a warm nut mixture (cashew, almonds and peanuts) after the seat belt signs went out.

starter
Just half an hour after takeoff from Singapore, the crew began serving the appetizer. There was baked Alaska king crab on mango salsa with mesclun salad and dressing. I think the combination of seafood and mango is just perfect and always tastes good.

main course
For the main course, I had ordered an individual dish from Singapore Airlines' “Book the Cook” program in advance. I chose grilled American beef tenderloin with asparagus, spinach and mashed potatoes, served with a balsamic onion sauce. I have to admit, it was a first-class creation by top American chef Alfred Portale, member of Singapore Airlines' International Culinary Panel. A perfect medium-rare steak is always a bit difficult on a plane. But this one undoubtedly deserves my award as “best steak on a plane”. The potato graters, however, didn't convince me. There were too many lemon peels in it for my taste, which resulted in a very bitter aftertaste.

Dessert
As soon as I finished my plate with the main course, I was asked what dessert I wanted. I tried the Cappuccino Crème Brûlée. However, this was different than I had imagined. So the caramel crust I was expecting on the French dessert was replaced by a mango-tasting sauce. Overall, unfortunately not my personal taste.

To top it all off, the crew came with a trolley full of cheese and fruit. Since I don't like soft cheese, I just used some red cheddar. There were also strawberries and grapes.

Breakfast (Book the Cook)
About two hours before the scheduled landing in Düsseldorf, a sunrise was simulated using the LED moodlight. Just 20 minutes later my breakfast table was set. I had a freshly squeezed orange juice and of course a coffee. As a starter there was a plate of freshly cut fruit. For the main course I ordered a slightly spiced up Egg Benedict from the “Book the Cook” program. The poached egg was served on hollandaise sauce with sliced lobster, asparagus, salmon and fried potatoes. Delicious!

After a restful night and a good breakfast, we arrived at Düsseldorf airport on time. After baggage claim we went straight to the train station and took the next ICE via Frankfurt/Main back to Halle (Saale).

Summary
The Singapore Airlines Business Class on the Airbus A350-900 clearly sets new standards. In my opinion, the width of the seats and therefore the flat bed are in no way inferior to some first class seats. The crew was very professional and always friendly. Since the business class occupancy rate on my flight wasn't that high, the service was quick but not hectic. This is what I want on a night flight.
I would have liked to fly too! Reads well!
Thanks very much! :)
Was also very satisfied with the inflight product and service. Can only recommend Singapore Airlines on the way to Asia/Australia.
Hallo :-)
I had exactly such a flight, SIN – DUS, also in seat 11K... ...the first row is significantly larger than all the other seats (row 19 probably also), because you even have a footstool in front of your seat... A total of one great plane, and an airline that really offers the very best service. Great report here from you with great pictures... I will definitely continue browsing here, really great site overall!!! Greetings, Christian
Thank you Christian! Rows 11 and 19 are really good choices.
Have fun reading further. Christian
Hello
I’m booked on the SQ A350 shortly, is there much of a difference between 11A and 11K? I’ve been told (and as said above) 11 and 19 are the best but I didn’t want row 19 as it’s bassinet row and I’d hate to book it and be moved away, so I went for 11K out and 11A back. Any one better than the other? I’ve heard there is a closet somewhere which can be nosy?
Hi,
I prefer 11K. There is just one lavatory in the front, which is on the left side of the plane. The main galley is between row 17-19.
Enjoy your flight!
